Pamela and Tommy Analyze Breakup

The Lee family motto should be Immodicus Indicium. Loosely translated, that means "too much information."

In the June 26 issue of TV Guide, Pamela Anderson Lee and her ex-husband Tommy Lee discuss the events leading up to that fateful evening in February 1998 when Tommy hit his wife while she held their two boys, Brandon and Dylan. Tommy subsequently spent four months in jail for spousal abuse, and Pamela filed for divorce.

"The week it came to a head was intense," Pamela says. "I think a lot of young couples go through that, having kids so close together. Tommy is used to getting all the attention [ever] since he was very young. And when you become a father, the attention is off you and on the children."

The VIP star continues, "Some people react different, less extreme. [Tommy] basically snapped." Nowaways, Pam says, "[Tommy] is keeping himself in check a lot more," adding that he is in anger-management therapy. "He is just real focused on putting our family back together. I really believe that will never be an issue again. Otherwise, I would not be with him."

Tommy also gives his version of what happened that night. "I was really, really unhappy professionally, creatively, and in our relationship," he says. "We had just had two new kids, and Pamela and I were having our challenges — her postpartum depression and my unhappiness, and that stuff was pent up in a house with two new boys. And, man, it just had nowhere to go but out and explode, you know? And we both pushed each other's buttons like you wouldn't believe."

Tommy says his incarceration was "a blessing. I figured I had two choices — I could turn this thing into a positive learning experience. Or, I could have dug in my heels, kicking and screaming about why I had to go there. I went there for a reason, you know?"

For the record, the lovin' Lees are not back together because there's another bundle of joy on the way. "No, not at all!" Pammy exclaims. "Tommy has been neutered or spayed — what do you call it?" Too much information, Pamela, but thanks for sharing.

If too much is never enough for you, Pamela also discusses her dearly departed breast implants ("It is not like I was Dolly Parton yesterday, and I am Kate Moss today") and her role as "big bad businesswoman" of her syndicated series.
