Tommy Lee Won't
Fight Divorce
Tommy Lee has figured out that some battles are not worth fighting. The Mötley
Crüe drummer, free on $500,000 bail for alleged spousal abuse, child abuse, and
a weapons charge, says he won't contest the divorce petition filed by his
estranged wife, Pamela Anderson Lee. But the rocker says that being separated
from his two boys, eight- week- old Dylan and eighteen- month- old Brandon, is "killing me." "I am completely devoted to [them]
and it is extremely painful and unsettling for me to be cut off from them at
this difficult time," Lee said in a statement issued by his publicist on
Monday. That "difficult time" refers to Lee's arrest last Tuesday
night for allegedly hitting Pamela while she was holding Dylan. Police say that
the former Baywatch actress suffered minor injuries; the child- abuse charge is that Dylan may have suffered mentally in the altercation. Pamela
Lee filed for divorce from Tommy soon after his arrest, citing the old
"irreconcilable differences," and he is barred from contacting her.
The drummer did not mention his wife of three years in his statement, but urged
"everyone to please not judge me or the situation until you have heard all
the facts." Lee is set to return to court on March 13 for a trial date to
be scheduled.
