Update: November 1999 ("Post Script" to Jay Irvine's note, see below)
Pamwatch.com has been purchased By Daniel L. D'Hondt.
In purchasing Pamwatch, it is my personal goal to continue with Jay Irvine's excellent work and keep Pamwatch "The One Stop" to find out what's going on in Pam's life & career.
We hope that as a result of the positive reflection this site has on both Pamela and Baywatch, that we will be able to continue the relationship that Jay Irvine has established with Pamela & the Baywatch staff.
Note: Presently we are looking for some help in "up-dating" Pamwatch. If you are interested in becoming involved, drop us an Email. Please let us know what your skills & abilities are and how you would like to help (e.g. I am interested in scanning articles, pictures, I have HTML skill's, etc.) In exchange you will get some great personal name recognition on this site, and have the opportunity to be involved with one of the most popular & famous Pamela Anderson Lee sites online!
Please bookmark Pamwatch and tell your friends as well. Lots of new visitors is what will keep the site up & running!
~ Please read further (see below) for more history about Pamwatch ~
(Who started the site... The fact that this was Pam's OFFICIAL site...)
(Note: the information below is for historical perspective only)
January 10, 1999.
Well, it's been two and a half since Pamwatch was online. When we were online, for a year and a half that is, we were Pamela's official fanclub. There were some that thought we were not the official site, and they bombarded the newsgroups slurring both Pamwatch and myself, Jay Irvine.
We laughed at these posts, because of
course... We were the real deal. At one point, we held an auction that Pamela helped us
organize along with Baywatch. I asked Joe Molina, the guy Pam put me in touch with
at Baywatch to write a letter to shut the critics up, click the thumbnail to read the
letter.
When we started the site, it was to combat the false stories in the media about Pamela. I was certain she wasn't as bad as all the tabloids said she was (haha) and for some unknown reason... I made it my duty to make sure the internet knew the real Pamela. I can't explain how I found her, but when she put me in touch with Baywatch, I knew it was really her.
So Pamela and Tommy took turns emailing me every other day, or weekly, or sometimes.... a few times in the same day. We went back and fourth and I created the site as they wanted it created. The down side of it all, I never asked for any money from them so when we fell into a hole because we owed bills for bandwidth... there were steps that had to be taken.
I asked Pamela and Tommy to cover the bills, and they weren't actually against it or anything, they just never got around to paying the bills for some reason. I'm not going to bad mouth them, because I'm sure there was a reason they didn't pay. Just because I don't know what it is, doesn't mean it wasn't valid. So we had no choice.... we started using an AVS (age verification system) type of membership so we would have money to cover the debts.
This, turned out to be the beginning of the end because Pamela saw this and thought it was a bad thing (to say the least)..... it's unfortunate really because we had no choice at the time and as I said.... for some reason Pam wasn't paying the debts. I could go more in detail about this but as I said..... I'm not going to bad mouth Pamela. She was good to me.
Long story short.... I shut down Pamwatch because she didn't want the AVS in place, and I personally couldn't afford to run the site. She didn't offer to pay the debts so we went offline. It was a short time after that I heard that Pamela's brother Gerry was going to head up a website for Pamela...... her official site. I was overjoyed. I offered the domain name to them because the fans knew it, and the search engines knew it as well..... but they declined. Actually, I shouldn't say that...they ignored the offer completely. Ah well, life goes on.
So now.... a couple years later..... I decided to bring Pamwatch back. Why? The simplest explanation would be that I'm still one of Pamela's biggest fans, and aside from her official site, I didn't think there was a website online offering what Pamwatch did when it was online. To be honest, I've been inside her official site and myself, I like Pamwatch more.
Don't get me wrong, I think her official site is great, graphically amazing...but it left me wanting more, thus....the rebirth of Pamwatch.
I hope you enjoy the site. Right now, it's almost exactly as it was when it went offline.... in the next while, I will bring it up to date when I have time to do so.
Thanks,
Jay Irvine
